City Scape

Went to have dinner in Downtown Los Angeles the other night and I sometimes forget how interesting this place is. The structures and the buildings are so big and grand! I've lived in LA all my life and am still in awe at how bustling and busy Downtown is. We wandered around a bit before our dinner reservations and decided to just take some pictures and enjoy the sights.

Chambray and Sneakers

So I have to tell you guys about my 'chambray' adventure!! I've been trying to find a light and versatile chambray top for a while now but the ones that I've seen are all too pricey for me or not the right shade. The other day, I went to Target and checked in their clearance section, and lo and behold, a perfect one ON SALE!! Yessss!!

The only thing was that it's a medium, but I figured I'd want a looser fit anyways. So the clearance tag said it was $16.99, which is much better than the prices I found elsewhere. I bought it and then went home, but when I checked the receipt, they charged me the regular price at $22.99!! I figured a $6 difference wasn't a lot but I bought it mostly for the clearance price, so I went back for a refund a week later. I told the girl at the exchange and refund counter what happened so she rung it back up to check the price, but a miracle happened and the price was even lower than before! So instead of getting around $6 for a refund, I got about $13 back!! Hallelujah!!

I love deals!

Tobi Maxi Dress

I am loving this maxi dress from Tobi right now because it's so soft and I love the side slit that adds something different to it. I paired it with a sheer tank for a casual Spring look. Definitely going to be wearing this a lot when the weather gets warmer and on a Summer vacation! It is really really long on me (if you haven't noticed), so I am going to have to take it to get hemmed soon. I was just really excited to show it to you guys first!

Tiered Waist Shorts: Two Ways to Wear it

I bought these shorts a little while ago because I wanted shorts that weren't denim and these have such nice pleats on them that give it a little more structure and sleekness. But at the same time, they are also very soft and feminine from the billowy aspect of it, which makes it almost look like a skirt. I came up with two outfits for it that can be worn for almost any occasion. Hope you like them!

Leather Jacket and Knitted Sweater

It was rainy in LA and I was super cold (yes, I know, LA people are such babies when it comes to the cold). So I layered a pullover sweater with a knitted cardigan and then a leather jacket over all of it. All bundled up now!

One Dress, Three Looks!

Sorry I haven't posted anything up since last week but things have been busy and I didn't have time to take outfit pictures or edit. But here's a new post and I decided to focus it around one dress and just come up with three different looks.

I know that sometimes you look in your closet and think you have nothing to wear, but there are numerous outfits you can come up with with just a few pieces! I am definitely guilty of saying I don't have anything to wear and run out to buy new clothes but I'm trying very hard to use what I have and be creative with it. Plus, it makes it kinda more fun!

Anyways, so here's the dress I'm going to use. It's a dark glittery bandage dress. I chose something that's slightly harder to work with. I could have chosen a very versatile plain black dress, but let's have a little fun and make it a little more difficult!

Dress: Papaya (Similar HERE and HERE)

Look #1
My first looks is a casual everyday look you can wear. I used the dress as a skirt and threw a tank and cardigan over it. The sparkle kinda adds a little something to the outfit but it's still very wearable for just an everyday look! I didn't want the footwear to make it too dressy so I threw on my leather boots. You like?...

Look #2
For a dressier look, I used the dress as a top. I put on a full black skirt over it and added a white blazer. You can wear this for a date or a night out or a very dressy day look. I'm always so mono-colored/chromed or whatnot so I added my bright red pumps for some extra dazzle! Remember, if you wear a skirt over your dress, to tuck your dress in or make sure your skirt covers it. I noticed in my last picture that the dress was peaking out underneath my skirt, but I guess I can just say I went for a peplum look ;)

Look #3
The last look took me a little while to figure out but I wanted to find something to wear underneath the dress this time, so I put on a basic scoopneck white t-shirt. This makes it look like a completely different dress. A little more feminine and slightly more casual.

Tshirt: H&M (Similar HERE and HERE)
Boots: Aldo (Similar HERE)

What do you guys think?! Did I do a good job? I wore the dress as a skirt, top, and changed it into a different dress completely. Which one's your favorite?

Blue Stripes, Tights, and Boots

Good afternoon everyone! I worked about 10 hours yesterday and it felt so nice to sleep in today, but I do have work later tonight, unfortunately. It's okay, I had time to create an outfit post for you guys! I rarely wear tights and I thought I should whip them out for a cute casual look! I paired them with some black high-waisted shorts and a comfy striped top.

I'm so excited because I'll be going to San Francisco this weekend for a friend's bridal shower! Definitely look out for some pictures! Maybe I'll whip out my tights again for the weekend, since it gets pretty cold up there!
