Hot Summer Weekend in LA

It was super hot in LA this weekend, so my sister and I decided to walk to an ice cream shop close by to us. Even though it was just a couple blocks from our house, I felt like I was melting faster than my ice cream!
Hope everyone is handling the heat well!! Stay cool!!

Tobi Maxi Dress

I am loving this maxi dress from Tobi right now because it's so soft and I love the side slit that adds something different to it. I paired it with a sheer tank for a casual Spring look. Definitely going to be wearing this a lot when the weather gets warmer and on a Summer vacation! It is really really long on me (if you haven't noticed), so I am going to have to take it to get hemmed soon. I was just really excited to show it to you guys first!

Tiered Waist Shorts: Two Ways to Wear it

I bought these shorts a little while ago because I wanted shorts that weren't denim and these have such nice pleats on them that give it a little more structure and sleekness. But at the same time, they are also very soft and feminine from the billowy aspect of it, which makes it almost look like a skirt. I came up with two outfits for it that can be worn for almost any occasion. Hope you like them!

Asymmetry

I saw this skirt when I was browsing on Tobi and knew that I needed to have it! The asymmetry is so unique and adds a little extra oomph to your outfit. Yes, I said 'oomph'. Anyways, I love pieces like this that can be very versatile and make a statement to each outfit you come up with. My only concern when ordering this was the length of the longer side of the skirt, but it turned out to be perfect (as in, not dragging on the floor). My legs are short- well, I'm just short in general so if you're taller than I am, then this wouldn't be a problem for you at all.

I paired the skirt with a regular black slouchy tank and cinched in my waist with a thick black and gold belt. I  know, this is kinda straying away from my rant about how I need to add more color to my wardrobe, but come on, you need to give me some time to gradually work on this :)

You can also dress the skirt down with a tank in a brighter color and some sandals to wear out during the day if you're looking for a more casual look. I'm very excited to wear this more often!

All White

I have a lot of nudes and white pieces in my wardrobe and I thought, let's try out a monotoned outfit! Who says you can't wear just one color?! I got this white blazer as a Christmas present from my sister and I absolutely love it. It's a perfect piece to wear if you want to add sleekness and sophistication to your outfit! AND I didn't have to alter it whatsoever! Yay!! For once!

Wearing one color can sometimes be hard because it might look boring or all the pieces might just blend or mold together to look like just one piece or something. But I feel like if you play with different textures and shades of white, then it kinda makes it more fun and wearable. The blazer I have on is slightly silky, my top is lace, and my shorts are denim. Kinda helps them separate from each other yet still work well together in one outfit. YOU LIKE?!

Black and White Simplicity

Happy Monday, everyone! Here's a new outfit post! I rarely get to wear my black pencil skirt, so I decided to wear it the other day and paired it with my metallic foil blouse, which you've seen from my holiday looks post. I've been absolutely loving my "gold bar" belt. It adds a bit of edge and fun to my outfits that need a little more cinching. And it doesn't hurt to add some more color with bright blue pumps!

Blue Stripes, Tights, and Boots

Good afternoon everyone! I worked about 10 hours yesterday and it felt so nice to sleep in today, but I do have work later tonight, unfortunately. It's okay, I had time to create an outfit post for you guys! I rarely wear tights and I thought I should whip them out for a cute casual look! I paired them with some black high-waisted shorts and a comfy striped top.

I'm so excited because I'll be going to San Francisco this weekend for a friend's bridal shower! Definitely look out for some pictures! Maybe I'll whip out my tights again for the weekend, since it gets pretty cold up there!

Red Peplum and Knee High Boots

I took these pictures on a rainy day last week in LA, but the weather has gotten sunnier these days, which is pretty nice. I have been adding a lot of red to my wardrobe because reds have been very popular this season, especially dark reds or burgundies, and because I want to be more festive! I bought this top about a year ago and I love the little details it has. I love peplum, first of all, but there are also buttons along the back. It was way too cold for me to take off my sweater and take a picture of it for you, but please take my word for it :)

I wanted a casual look for work that day so I added on chunky accessories to my outfit as well as my brown suede knee high boots. The boots are super comfortable and I'm not exactly sure if they are very petite-friendly, but I love them, so I don't care! haha!

White Leather

So recently, I've noticed that I've been leaning towards anything with a hint of leather in it. I bought a leather gold studded cuff, which is what I'm wearing below, a leather gold plated belt, and of course, my favorite, this white leather jacket. All of these things are FAUX leather, of course.

I had received a $15 off coupon from Jcpenney about two months ago and was super excited to use it! Jcpenney has very affordable fashion and I can usually find something I like there. So I was browsing with my sister to find jeans actually, and I stumbled on this white jacket. I love blazers to begin with but when I touched it, it was faux leather!! Ahhh!! You can sense my excitement, right?...

So I had to get it. I believe it was originally $40 and with my $15 coupon, I paid about $28 total! I love love love this jacket and it has a leopard print interior, which gives it a little extra something fun.
