Ewoks and grilled cheese

I bought this shirt the last time I went to Disneyland. I spotted it out in one of the stores and just had to have it! I love ewoks! Everyone's pointed it out and giggled every time I've worn it. Come on, who doesn't love ewoks?! Anyways, I also had nothing to eat one night and decided to try to make something with what I had available and came up with tomato basil soup with grilled cheese. I made the soup with broth, canned tomato paste, pepper, basil flakes, and a bit of thyme. All I had in the fridge was provolone and shredded mozarella, so I just used that for the grilled cheese. It was quite good actually. But maybe I was just really hungry and didn't care.

Umami Madness!

Blazer: Thrift from Out of the Closet. Shirt: Cotton On. Shorts: Cotton On. Wedged Heels: Target. Necklace: Forever21. Belt: Target. Watch: Cote d'Azur. Ring: Disneyland.

My friends and I went to Umami Burger on Hollywood Blvd the other day to try it out because of all the good things we heard about it. We walked into a bar-like atmosphere; it was very dim and busy with wood detailing and Chinese/Japanese symbols written on the walls. The menu was small, making it easier for us to decide on what to eat. I, myself, got the Socal Burger, which had lettuce, tomato, cheese, sundried tomato, and some kind of sauce in it. I also got a bite of the Umami burger. Both were really good; I don't even know how to describe it. I got a side of the truffle cheese fries, which came with their roasted garlic aioli. DELICIOUS!! The burgers start at $10 and the sides are generally about $6. Kind of pricy, but a great experience.

White Jeans and Slightly Coral Lipstick

Blouse: H&M. Cardigan: Forever21. Necklace: Gifted from Aldo. Bracelet: J. Dew. Jeans: Forever21. Shoes: Payless. Ring: Disneyland.

I recently bought some lipstick that's a light coral color because I always use a nude pink and since it's Spring, I want a little pop of color in my makeup. Something fun and brighter than usual. So I bought this lipstick from Sephora and it's really light and smooth. I only put like two layers on because I feel like if I put too much, it would be too orange-y. haha! I also put a top layer of gloss on from ELF, which makes the color less neon; more wearable I think. So below are close ups of it. Very Springy, yes? Maybe not, but it's brighter than my usual makeup.

VNLC Tet Festival

I participated in the Vietnamese Language and Culture Tet Festival twice while at UCLA. VNLC (Vietnamese Language and Culture organization) was a big part of my life while I was at school. The festival is an annual celebration at UCLA for the Lunar New Year. Because I graduated this past summer, I attended the festival only to watch it this year. I wanted to support the organization that taught me so much about my culture and to also support my friends. They were so adorable in their traditional Vietnamese dresses- I loved wearing mine, but I was only a spectator this year, so no dress for me!!

This year is the year of the Rabbit/Cat- Rabbit for Chinese culture and cat for Vietnamese culture. There's a story to it, but I don't wanna get into right now. It's quite long and was the basis of the festival. But anyways, it was great to see everyone and to watch the show!

Two Disneyland trips in ONE WEEK!

This past week, I went to Disneyland twice!! At least I had a day in between to rest and regain energy. I went on Wednesday with Ashley for her birthday and we had tons of fun. We just did the things we absolutely wanted to do and it was really empty there- thank god!! Since it was her birthday, she wanted us to wear matching clothes, so I accommodated to her requests. That silly silly girl. We wore our matching OHANA shirts that I designed for Christmas and black cardigans. While we were at Disneyland, I bought a ring with my birthstone on it and easily convinced her to buy one herself...hehe...

Even though she's crazy sometimes, I love her. haha!

The second time I went was with George, Scott, and Reggie. We spent the ENTIRE day there and watched World of Color too. It wasn't too crowded considering it was a Friday. We didn't even need any fast passes for the day.
Scott packed as though we were going to be gone for a few days. He had a couple changes of clothes, six apples, six water bottles, a few pb&j sandwiches, breakfast burritos, zipblock bags of chips, cookies, and a monster. I know, crazy, huh? But he was definitely prepared to save money.
I definitely had a lot of fun but by the end of the day, I was dead tired. My feet were hurting but at least this time, they weren't swollen. Yes, once I came back from Disneyland and my feet were VERY swollen. The arch of my foot had a huge ball tumor thing and George had to help me rub it down. But it was so painful. NEVER AGAIN, I hope.

Christmas at Disneyland!

I went to Disneyland the other day before my annual pass gets blacked out. Unfortunately, it rained ALL DAY when we were there. So I prepared by myself by dressing as warm as I possibly could. I wore a long sleeve v-neck sweater with black tights. I threw on a black striped hoodie over the sweater and then my tweed blazer over the hoodie. To keep my footsies warm, I wore thick stockings that went a little above my knee and threw waterproof boots over that- added a scarf and I was bundled up for the cold and wet day ahead of me.

I packed an umbrella with me (thank god!) and spent the entire day shielding myself from the rain. I still can't believe people still brought babies and tiny children to Disneyland on a rainy day. It was freezing!!!

Anyways, it wasn't as crowded because of the rain but it wasn't completely empty either. There were still lines and we didn't go on the things that had a long wait time and the line was outside. If the lines were inside, it was more appealing to me. haha!

The one thing I really really wanted to do was eat at Cafe Orleans. We wanted to try their Monte Cristo sandwich, which is a turkey, ham and cheese sandwich dipped in batter and deep fried. It's served with jam and fruits. However, when we got there, the wait for 2 people was around half and hour. Thank goodness, people were impatient and didn't show up for a table when they were called so we got our table faster.

We ordered their garlic and Parmesan fries and it came with a delicious sauce and french onion soup for our appetizers. The fries were warm and crispy and absolutely delicious. I have a thing for fries, so I might just be a tiny bit biased.

For our main course....the MONTE CRISTO SANDWICH. It was so good and perfect. They gave us four triangular pieces with two containers of jam and strawberries and grapes. We split it of course and each of us had two pieces of the sandwich. I would have been satisfied with one piece because it was so so rich and filling. But I couldn't stop eating. We finished everything and I was pretty full for the rest of the day. Enjoy the picture:

For the rest of the day, we took it  easy and just bought stuff and went on the rides that we really wanted to go on. I just really wanted to see the huge Christmas tree and the castle light up, which I did- so my day was complete. yay!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!
