Day 2 in Denver

We went to Glenwood Springs on our second day in Colorado. Our plans were to have a little lunch, hike to Hanging Lake, and then go to the natural hot springs in the evening. I failed when it came to taking pictures of my lunch- I was so excited to eat it that I completely forgot to take pictures. I can only tell you where and what I ate: It was a little burger place in Glenwood called "The Grind". They had a lot of gourmet burgers and even "build your own burger" options. The boyfriend and I got the Mayan (a veggie burger) and Southwest (has jalapenos, cheese, and avocado).

You'll see a lot of pictures of our hike. Hanging Lake is GORGEOUS. I have asthma so walking up that 1.2 mile trail nearly killed me. I went to the doctors office to get a new inhaler two days after the hike and my doctor said I was still wheezing. Anyways, if you ever go to Hanging Lake, the torturous hike is definitely worth the view. But be aware that it is not necessarily 1.2 miles- there are a lot of twists and turns and CLIMBING. Yes, you have to somewhat climb or ascend on rocks carefully. I was definitely proud of myself for making it all the way up because half way through the hike, I felt like I could barely get a breath in, especially with the altitude.

Couldn't take picture of the hot springs because I couldn't carry a camera around in there. Just think of a HUGE pool that is hot and bubbly. It felt really nice in extremely cold weather. Enough rambling, here are my pictures of my second day there!

  1. This looks like a great hike, I love these pictures :) The sky is so azure and the water makes me just want to jump in a cool river and swim around and escape the city life for a while. Thanks for sharing!

  6. What a fun adventure! When it comes to photographing food, sometimes I get too hungry and eat before I'm able to get my camera out, so I can relate! What gorgeous scenery!
