Foodie Friday

Kazoku
Alhambra, CA

The boyfriend and I got a free gift card for a sushi joint in Alhambra and decided to give it a try! We walked in and they were pretty empty, since it wasn't dinner rush yet. We ordered a good amount of small dishes and two entrees. It was definitely a lot of food and we made good use of our gift card! :)

Another Late Foodie Friday

Tokoro Sushi

On Monday night, the boyfriend and I decided to just not make dinner and go out for sushi. After relying on my trusty ol' Yelp app, we found this place on Fair Oaks in South Pasadena called Tokoro Sushi. We just went on a limb and decided to just try it. And it was an AWESOME idea! The place was quaint and cozy with a HUGE selection. It took us forever to decide what we wanted. So we ordered a few things but my favorite would have to be the yellow tail collar. It was so buttery and crispy at the same time and the rich fish flavor was delicious. They also have Happy Hours here and there or all you can eat, so definitely check it out!

In the past week, I worked at a catering event for a little extra money and went out for sushi afterwards. The first picture is of one of the specialty rolls the boyfriend and I ordered. It was with spicy tuna and deep fried lotus root. It was soooo good, especially after a long day at work. During the week was pretty normal, I just went to the internship a couple times a week and went to class. I spent Thursday night going to Cafe Crepe in Santa Monica for my friend's birthday. It was a surprise themed dinner and it was so much fun. The theme was 1920's Paris; this was because her favorite book is "The Sun also Rises" and the setting is in 1920's France, thus we went to a crepe cafe. The food was okay but the service was very slow and the waitress didn't seem too happy to be working. Other than that, we enjoyed our time!
