Foodie Friday: Ice Cream Edition!

With Summer pretty much here and it being constantly hot in LA, I have been in an ice cream craze (even more so than I am normally). There's nothing like having a sweet creamy cold dessert on a warm sunny LA day! AND getting in great dessert Instagram shots!
It's a goal of mine to try as many ice cream spots in LA as I possibly can. Please see below for all of the creamy goodness I had this past month! :)

Foodie Friday: San Francisco Edition

I didn't have a chance to put up a post about my food adventures during our weekend getaway to San Francisco, so here it is! We fit in as much eating as we possibly could and here are some of the shots I was able to get.

Foodie Friday

Anaheim Packing District

Been dying to go to Anaheim Packing District and finally got to go over the weekend! It's a really cool building that has a bunch of food vendors and eateries in it. Almost like a more modern and eclectic Grand Central Market. I tried what I could that day but I'll save more for next time.

Enjoy the pictures!

Foodie Friday

Tom Colicchio's Heritage
Las Vegas, Nevada

Sorry I've been so MIA, but I made sure to make time to put up a Foodie Friday post for this particular restaurant! We went to Las Vegas for my dad's birthday this past weekend and made reservations for Heritage in The Mirage. He loves steak so we decided to choose a steakhouse on the strip and what better way than to go with a Tom Colicchio restaurant?!
We did family style and shared all of the dishes, which turned out to be perfect! It was amazingly delicious and I don't even know how to describe it at this point! The starters were so good and we got the 32 oz bone in ribeye which was pretty pricey but well worth it to me!

Please let the pictures speak for themselves...

Foodie Friday

Abricott
Pasadena, California

The boyfriend and I went here for a simple week night dinner since we didn't feel like cooking. He was checking Yelp for places to eat in Pasadena and stumbled on this one. It's a small coffee shop and restaurant with a Thai fusion flare. We got the roti bread with curry dipping sauce, drunken noodles, and a pork sandwich. The dishes were really flavorful and the portions were great! I had some leftover to have for lunch the next day which was perfect!

Next time, I need to try their drinks and coffees!

Foodie Friday

Bestia
Los Angeles

I have been dying to eat here and having to push my reservations back for nearly 6 months, I was not going to wait any longer! I definitely recommend making reservations though because they are always completely booked!

It is in a very industrial area where you wouldn't think there'd be anything like this but they offer valet parking if you don't want to park on the street.

We had a party of 4 on a Saturday evening and took their suggestion on getting a bunch of plates to share. We ended up ordering 10 plates, which was perfect for a party of 4. The waitress did warn us that it might be too much food, but we have hearty appetites so it wasn't a problem.

My favorite dishes were:

-Grilled octopus and calamari salad: This was one of our favorites. Charred perfectly and mixed with various mushrooms. YUM!

-Veal tartare crostini: This was super good! It had this creamy sauce on the perfectly made tartare that was something else. My friend described it as a decadent tuna salad sandwich!

- Roasted bone marrow on spinach gnocchetti: This is probably my favorite dish of the night. I really like bone marrow and have had many different versions of this but the way Bestia makes it is to die for! They give you two bone marrows and put it on top of some spinach gnocchi. You scrape out the bone marrow and mix it into the pasta. Can't describe it, so you just have to try it!

- Cavatelli with black truffle: This was also one of my favorite dishes of the night. There was so much flavor and the texture of the cavatelli was amazing! The sausages they had in there were perfectly cooked.

They make sure to bring your dishes out accordingly to make your meal a wonderful experience. I would definitely want to come back here again once I'm able to get another reservation!

Foodie Friday: NY Edition (Part 3)

The Cannibal
This was one of the places we found on Yelp when we were planning our trip to NY. The thing that drew us in, or should I say my boyfriend, is the roasted half pig head. The moment he saw that on the menu, we added that on our eating list! We came here in a group and tried almost all of their menu actually. I love places where you can share a bunch of small plates, that way you can try a bit of everything!
Although I don't drink, the people in my party seemed to really enjoy the drinks there! They had a very extensive menu of beers, so if you're a beer lover, this is the place for you. Meat and beer, it's like a man's heaven! After having all the small plates, we got the half pig head last to split among 6 of us. It was super filling and the meat was amazingly tender. It came with slices of bread and covered in cheese and sauerkraut. That was some meal!

The Lobster Place at Chelsea Market
We stopped by Chelsea Market to look around before our dinner reservations nearby one day and knew we had to come back sometime during our trip to try out one of their restaurants! There were so many little shops and eateries in Chelsea Market that I absolutely fell in love! Our eyes and stomachs were drawn to The Lobster Place which was both an eatery and seafood market! They had whole steamed lobsters, raw oysters and clams, sushi, and tons more! We decided to try their oysters and a whole steamed lobster. Everything was super fresh and delicious! With still a bit of room in our tummies, we decided to also try their shrimp roll! Great decision on our part! :)

Foodie Friday: NY Edition (Part 2)

On our second day in the city, we made it a mission to try as many places and see as many things as possible. We ate at quite a few different places and walked until we couldn't walk anymore! I'm going to let the pictures of all our eating adventures from that day speak for themselves!
